Ketchup was born as Onyido Nkemjika in the Western city of Lagos, Nigeria to an Igbo business man and his Yoruba wife whom hailed from Anambra and Osun state respectively. Due to the nature of his parents job Ketchup was exposed to migrating from different parts of Nigeria.

Ketchup who is Currently signed to STRONGHOLD RECORDS is moving and moving fast, the beginning of his achievement recognition came when he won BEST MALE ARTISTE AND BEST STAGE PEFORMANCE at the 2nd Annual African Entertainment Awards (AEA) 2011 in Malaysia, and has now been nominated for MOST PROMISING ACT TO WATCH category at the up-coming 6th Annual Nigeria Entertainment Award (NEA) in New York, USA on the 4th of September 2011.
